PAPER CAPE ETHICAL PROMISE

At Paper Cape, we believe every purchase matters. Each item we throw in our shopping carts represents a long chain of people, places and materials - both past and future. Ultimately, this endless cycle of production and consumption impacts our children and the world they will inherit.

That's why we want to ensure we are good stewards of the world, and strive to ensure every step in our production process - from the materials we use to the factories we partner with - is ethical and sustainable in order to create a positive legacy for our children.

We want our customers to buy clothes that last from one generation to the next, true heirloom quality. And that quality means sustainability.

Here is our promise to you:

People first, always. We care about the people behind our clothes, whether they work in the mill or factory in Peru, China, or Vietnam, our fulfillment center in Sacramento, or at our San Francisco headquarters. We visit every facility and only work with those committed to ethical practices including training and advancement, fair compensation, and safe working conditions for all employees.
Quality is sustainability. We think the most sustainable approach to fashion is to produce garments that are made to last. We choose the softest, strongest fabrics available so our clothes last from one generation to the next, reducing the amount of apparel produced and disposed of. We are on a mission to celebrate hand-me-downs.
Continuous improvement. While there are many constraints of small business manufacturing, we are committed to ethical and sustainable manufacturing and will continue to improve our processes as we grow.
